Volunteer at Congress
The University of Victoria needs your help to make Congress 2013 a success and showcase why Victoria is one of the best places in Canada!
The Congress team (the Federation for the Humanities and Social Sciences and UVic) is looking for 400 volunteers to be part of this world class event. Volunteers will play a key role in ensuring every delegate has a positive experience at UVic. By offering to help during Congress, volunteers automatically become a member of the DEL-X1 Team - Delegate Experience First. DEL-X1 is reflective of the university’s commitment to delegate satisfaction.
As part of the team you can volunteer in a variety of areas including:
- Campus Ambassadors
- Wayfinding
- Residence Support
- Hospitality
- Transportation Services
- Volunteer Lounge
- Audio Visual/ Systems
- Building Monitors
- Special events
Most volunteer shifts are four hours in length. When your shift is over, we invite you to participate in the public events happening across campus. Browse the Expo, take in the performances on the outdoor concert main stage or attend the Big Thinkers lectures.
All volunteers will receive training related to Congress and their assignment areas. Additional perks include a Volunteer Lounge with refreshments for break periods, door prizes, and early morning volunteers will receive a gift certificate for a hot breakfast.
This is a once in a lifetime event and you are invited to be a part of it!
