In June, most ferries depart hourly from the Lower Mainland (Tsawwassen) and Vancouver Island (Swartz Bay). The crossing takes approximately 90 minutes. Reservations (at an additional fee of approximately $15.00) are recommended during peak periods.

There are several daily ferry crossings between Horseshoe Bay (West Vancouver) and Departure Bay (Nanaimo, Vancouver Island). West Vancouver is approximately a 90-minute drive from Whistler. Crossing time is one hour and 40 minutes and it is approximately a 90-minute drive from Nanaimo to Victoria. Check the BC Ferries website for fares.

Bus transportation
The University of Victoria is conveniently located along Victoria’s local bus routes. The University of Victoria is pleased to offer a complimentary shuttle service that will run between two hotel shuttle stops and a downtown BC Transit Connector, where you can pay to use the public buses. The shuttle service will run every 10-12 minutes between the hours of 07:00 to 10:00 and 16:00 to 20:00.
Bus Route #4 is the primary bus route from the BC Transit Connector to the UVic bus terminal. There are four other bus routes available from various downtown locations and the UVic campus. Daily BC Transit passes can be purchased for $5.00 (unlimited use for the day) and can be purchased at the UVic Kiosk in the Congress Expo, at the UVic Welcome Centre and at all Info Kiosks. One-way cash fares of $2.50 (for adults, seniors, and youths) can be presented to the BC Transit bus driver.

Airport shuttle service
Akal Airporter is the official airport service provider for Congress 2013. They are a local private company established in 1996. Akal has a fleet of new deluxe buses and a well-trained professional staff. The cost of a shuttle between the Victoria International Airport and downtown Victoria is $21 plus applicable taxes.

Parking On Campus
The University of Victoria offers 3,100 parking spaces in 17 lots across campus. Daily parking passes will be made available to Congress attendees at the following rates:
